Hundreds of Florida A&M University students flocked to Governor’s Square Mall for the Fall JCPenney Suit up on Sunday in preparation for the fall recruiting event.

The three-hour biannual event is the largest Historically Black College and University (HBCU) JCPenney Suit-Up, said Career and Professional Development Center Director Bill Means, Ed.D. It is designed for students to purchase outfits for their job and internship interviews later this week.

“We distributed nearly $6,000 in gift cards with over 500 students attending the event,” said Means, who thanked President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., and other members of the Senior Leadership Team who donated money for gift cards.

The scheduled events are a STEM Career and Internship Fair, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, 2525 Pottsdamer St., Tallahassee. The event is open to College of Engineering and STEM students from FAMU and FSU.

A Networking Mixer is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom Tuesday, September 20 in the Grand Ballroom.

More than 200 employers have registered to recruit at the Fall 2022 Career and Internship Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday. Recruiting booths will occupy the first and second floors of the Al Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center. Sixty employers signed up for the Fall 2022 Virtual Career and Internship Expo 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. event on Thursday, said Means.
