FAMU President’s 2021 Holiday Toy Drive Surpassed 1,000 Gifts

Florida A&M University (FAMU) 2021 Annual President’s Holiday Toy Drive collected 1,098 gifts, including 93 bicycles, surpassing the 2020 total.

The toys, books and other gifts were distributed to local Big Bend area agencies and more than 15 individual families. Unwrapped gifts were dropped off at the President’s House on South Adam Street and at Lee Hall.

During the toy drive on Friday, December 5, 2021, President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., and wife Sharon Robinson greeted each donor as staff and student volunteers carried the bikes and other unwrapped Christmas gifts indoors. Some of the staff members even sang Christmas carols to get everyone in a festive mood. More than half of the gifts were dropped over during the following week.
