1 p.m. August 28, 2023 Update

Florida A&M University is monitoring Tropical Storm Idalia, which is expected to reach hurricane strength as it approaches the Florida Gulf Coast during the next 36 to 48 hours. Residents in Tallahassee and the Big Bend region are expected to experience the impacts of the weather system as early as Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.

The Tallahassee main campus and satellite locations will remain open until further notice. Due to the predicted path of Idalia, students are urged to shelter in place. The University dining facilities will remain open until further notice.
