Florida A&M University Developmental Research School (FAMU DRS) graduate Brian Lamb was elected chair of the Florida Board of Governors (FBOG) at the board’s meeting at Florida Atlantic University, Thursday.
Lamb, who grew up in Tallahassee, had served as the FBOG vice-chair and chairs the FBOG’s Budget and Finance Committee. He was first appointed in March 2019, and his current term ends in January 2026. Before that, Lamb served as chairman of the University of South Florida Board of Trustees. He spoke at the FAMU spring 2021 commencement.
Lamb is the global head of Diversity & Inclusion at JPMorgan Chase & Co. In that role, his oversight includes the employee Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and the Asian, Black, Hispanic and LGBT+Executive Forums, Global Supplier Diversity, and the firmwide D&I programs – Advancing Black Leaders, Military & Veterans Affairs, the Office of Disability Inclusion and Women on the Move. Lamb earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Florida.
Lamb lives in Ohio with his wife Paulette and family. One of his three children attends FAMU.
