Dr. Tammie M. Johnson is an Associate Professor of Public Health at Florida Agricultural
and Mechanical University (FAMU). After working as a public health professional for
over 15 years, Dr. Johnson entered academia in 2010. Dr. Johnson discovered her love
for epidemiology and biostatistics when she assisted with collecting and analyzing
data from the first Florida Youth Tobacco Survey. Since then, her interests have expanded
to include many chronic disease outcomes and risk factors, and she specializes in
complex survey data methodology and analysis. Her publication topics include diabetes,
metabolic syndrome, physical activity, alcohol consumption, tobacco use, and related
outcomes and determinants.
