Allied Health Sciences

For those students who are interested in pursuing professional studies in the School of Allied Health Sciences, the Living Learning Community (LLC) will afford you an opportunity to live with like-minded peers in an enriching environment that will support your academic, personal, and professional success.

This LLC is for first-year (freshmen) students who are highly motivated and have an interest in pursuing careers in one of the School of Allied Health's four undergraduate majors: Cardiopulmonary Science (CPS), Health Care Management (HCM), Health Informatics and Information Management (HIIM), Health Science General (HSG), Health Science/Pre-Occupational Therapy (HSPOT), and Health Science/Pre-Physical Therapy (HSPPT). Applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.25 on a scale of 4.00.

REQUIREMENTS

To apply, complete the online application and submit a one-page personal essay (no more than 500 words) that addresses the following questions:

  1. State which of the above health profession you are interested in pursuing and why.
  2. List any school/community activities/memberships (e.g., volunteer work, church activities, school organizations, music, dance, or sports) in which you have been involved.
  3. List any honors/awards that you may have received (e.g., academics, arts, music, sports, church, etc.).

 

When you are ready to submit your one-page essay click on the "School of Allied Health Sciences" link in the FAMU Housing Application portal and upload your document.
