Residents will need a television with a tuner clear QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) to receive the high definition service in the residence halls. Please note most TVs purchased since 2007 will have a clear QAM tuner.

The below converter/tuner boxes are recommended for use on campus. However, we can NOT guarantee that a converter box will work with your TV or that the box will deliver a clear signal on the same channel lineup. We suggest that you use a TV with a compatible Clear QAM tuner to receive HD cable on campus.

Televisions should be able to access at least 135 channels. If your TV doesn’t have a tuner clear QAM built into the TV, a converter tuner will need to be used/ purchased.
Note: PHD-208 (Advanced Digital HDTV Tuner Receiver) is a tuner receiver that we use on campus.
