Florida A & M University housing provides students the opportunity to live on the Highest of Seven Hills in the beautiful capital city, Tallahassee, Florida. Students are granted the opportunity to engage in the unmatched experience of Residence Life while gaining once in a lifetime connections. Housing options vary from traditional student housing, formerly known as “dorms”, to apartment style living. To support residents new to Tallahassee, First Time In College and Transfer students receive priority during the assignments process.
During the assignments process, multiple considerations are made using various factors including application completion date, space availability, configurations and preference requests. While we do our best to accommodate the majority of requests, it is essential students submit applications as soon as the process opens. Be reminded preferences are NOT guarantees.

The Assignment Process
Housing assignments are completed on a continuous basis throughout each semester. Students are able to view their assignments by logging into the Starrez portal. As cancellations and room changes are completed, additional spaces may become available and are constantly being evaluated for occupancy.
Assignments are made based on the completion date of both the application AND Advance Payment. Applications will not be processed without the Advance Payment.

- Roster Verification and occupancy status is monitored throughout each semester.
