About Me

Dr. Sang Bum Park is a Research Associate at the Florida A&M University (FAMU) School of Architecture + Engineering Technology (SAET). Dr. Park specializes in architectural acoustics and is responsible for research, teaching, and grant writing. As a proud acoustician and a sound engineer, he considers a learning environment to be a performance that is happening on a stage. He collects, mixes, and adjusts signals from students, literature, technology, colleagues, etc., to make the classroom environment balanced and suitable for learning. Since 2008, Park has taught environmental technology, architectural acoustics, and research-based classes at the University of Florida and FAMU. Since 2018, while he has secured grant projects associated with historic preservation, he has expanded his research interest in creating a VR application for educational purposes using a laser scanner, photogrammetry, and game engine software.

Park is from Suwon, South Korea, and lives in Tallahassee, Florida. He enjoys playing tennis, golf, fishing, and camping, but he loves doing them with his wife, daughter, and son.
