Councils

NPHC
...is comprised of nine historically Black Greek-letter organizations (BGLOs) that make up the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Collectively, these organizations are referred to as "The Divine Nine." Each of these fraternities and sororities is rich in history. NPHC was chartered January 1997 here at FAMU.
NPHC promotes intentional and meaningful interactions through forums, meetings and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities, modes, and functions for the mutual interest and betterment of member organizations and the FAMU community. -
PFC
...was created in 1978 via the merger of the Professional Inter-fraternity Conference and Professional Panhellenic Association. The PIC (professional men’s fraternities) and PPA (professional women’s sororities) were each founded in the 1920’s. Membership in PFC is restricted by fraternal organizations and/or associated major/department/college, class enrollment or special affiliation.
The Professional Fraternity Council is the organization that strives to unite those organizations under their umbrella and work for their common goals. Representatives from each chapter meet regularly sharing information, discussing issues of concern and interest, and voting on policies and procedures. -
CIO
......is the governing body for all organizations who either identify as Greek-Letter or our “Greek Affiliated organizations” who have a recruitment process in line with the fraternal membership intake and recruitment process.
The Council of Independent Organizations, consists of both fraternities and sororities, both single sex and co-ed. CIO has a focus on specific ethnicities and/or cultures or multiculturalism in general, community service oriented and caters to our “Greek Affiliated’ organizations. These organizations are united to serve as a unique voice advocate, and provide a service for their respective communities. -
MIC
...is the governing body for all Greek-Letter organizations who are music and fine arts oriented. MIC is unique to FAMU as the parent council is known as NIMC – The National Interfraternity Music Council.
MIC is designed to be the unifying voice of those they govern. MIC works in unison to achieve a consensus set of policies, guidelines and staple events that provide collaboration and unifies all of those who stand to benefit from its contributions to music and the arts.

Order of Omega - Phi Beta Chapter
The Phi Beta chapter of Order of Omega recognizes upperclassmen Greeks, who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and involvement within their respective organization and within the Greek community, campus, and the local community.

The Order host and participates in a variety of events and programs throughout the year such as but not limited to:
- Oversee planning and implementation of the Greek Awards Gala
- Assist in the dissemination and creation of certain surveys
- New Member Experience -
