By donating to Efferson Student Union and Activities you will make it possible for us to provide educational, recreational, diversity and leadership programs that can enhance the educational experience of students.
The student union is named after H. Manning Efferson. Efferson was a native of South Carolina who earned a master's degree from Columbia and came to FAMU as a math instructor in 1924. Efferson went on to serve as head of the math department, dean of liberal arts and dean of students before being tapped as interim president from July 1949 to April 1950, between the presidencies of William Gray and George Gore. Efferson retired from FAMU in the early 1960s and died in 1972; FAMU named its student union building for him in 1975.
Efferson Student Union & Activities is responsible for providing diverse quality programs and activities for the FAMU students and the campus community. Every year ESUA produces almost 100 quality events during the school year ranging from musical performances, game shows, competitions, lectures, open mics workshops, leadership trainings homecoming activities, and recognition programs. Although our events are geared toward FAMU students many faculty, staff and alumni also participate in several events and activities. Even students from Florida State University and Tallahassee Community College have attended our events.
Now the exciting opportunity for YOUR business is deciding how you choose to partner with ESUA. Below you will find a list of the programs and activities where we are seeking partnerships. Each partnership opportunity will afford you the chance to help enhance campus life here at FAMU as well as provide brand exposure to thousands of consumers and potential employees. As one of the largest campus among Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Florida A&M University guarantees a large exposure for all events and activities taking place on campus.
