Faculty & Course Evaluations

The State University System Student Assessment of Instruction (SUSSAI) allows students to assess the quality of instruction received in their classes. The assessment is administered in the last three weeks of instruction every semester through a survey provided to each enrolled student.

Spring 2022 Course Evaluations by Students
FAMU Student Assessment of Instruction (FAMSAI) evaluation surveys for Spring 2022 have been deployed for the main campus and are available for students to complete.

Students can access evaluations through a link in their FAMU Canvas account.

Students can submit their evaluations 11:59 PM on Sunday, April 24, 2022

Until the surveys are closed, reminders will be sent periodically to students who have yet to complete the surveys.

To access the course evaluation surveys, students should sign into Canvas and click on a link to a currently enrolled course. Click on “Class Climate LTI” in the menu on the left to access the dashboard containing all course evaluations.

About The Course Evaluations

  • - The Likert scale is used to rate each question. Students may also make comments on the survey.
  • - The surveys, which are completed electronically, are course- and instructor-specific.
  • - The surveys are emailed or can be accessed via canvas.
  • - Periodic reminders for surveys not yet completed are sent to the students FAMU email account.
  • - Instructors are also emailed a response rate notice halfway through the survey period.
  • - Student responses are anonymous.
  • - Results are emailed to instructors three to four weeks after the survey period closes.
  • - The results show the response rate and the composite ratings by the students for each course, along with any comments made by students.
  • - An instructor may request copies of their survey results via email or by office request.
  • - Departmental deans, chairpersons and associates may also request administrative results for faculty in their respective academic units.
