Post-Masters Certificates

The Florida A&M University School of Nursing master’s program provides post-master’s certificate (PMC) program for both non-nurse practitioner nursing master’s graduates and APN master’s graduates who want to become AGPCNP or WHNP. Non-nurse practitioner graduates are those who hold master’s degree in a non-nurse practitioner nursing role such as nursing education or nursing administration. APN graduate applicants are those who have master’s degree in nursing with national certification as a clinical nurse specialist (CNS), certified nurse midwife (CNM), certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in other specialties such as pediatric nurse practitioner or neonatal nurse practitioner.

APN Applicants:

For APN prepared master's graduate applicants, up to 22 credits may be awarded based on courses, grades and recency of the courses taken. The courses credited are those taken within the past five (5) years of admission and grade of B and above.

Non-APN Applicants:

A total of six (6) credit hours will be awarded for non-APN master's graduate applicants and they must complete 36 credits at FAMU. A grade of B or above is required for all courses. Non-APN coursework may also be evaluated by the SON. The courses credited are those taken within the past five (5) years of admission.
