While planning a faculty-led study abroad program allows the faculty member to control the academic experience, it can prove to be a challenging and time-consuming process to coordinate the logistics arrangements. Because of the time and effort its takes to establish a good international experience, OIED recommends that faculty members consider using an experienced and approved education abroad.
During the Study Abroad Fair, you can interact with representatives of these services. These providers have support resources in most countries and have knowledge of local customs and cultural excursion resources to ensure a quality experience. They can provide assistance in arranging more affordable group airfares, housing and board, classroom space, knowledgeable guides and in-country transportation, as well as the ability to refer guest lecturers. Providers have the ability to respond to an emergency situation by knowing how to deliver appropriate assistance in a timely manner and have a reliable process to deal with moving students safely during natural disasters and national crises. They can also eliminate the frustration related to the payment of program fees by establishing individual student accounts, excluding FAMU tuition and fees.
The Al Lawson Gym is located at 1800 Wahnish Way, Tallahassee, FL 32307.
While the Study Abroad Fair is FREE for Students, Faculty and Staff to Attend, there is a registration fee for Program Providers, Vendors, and Partners to table at this Fair.
