The Division of Strategic Planning, Analysis, and Institutional Effectiveness provides oversight of assessment, accreditation, institutional research, reporting, and strategic planning functions.
 
The division supports FAMU’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement by providing senior leadership with analysis of institutional and other data to support effective decision-making. 
 
The division works collaboratively with senior leadership to monitor and improve progress on key performance indicators with respect to academic, fiscal, and operational goals. Division units conduct ongoing evaluations of administrative and academic units and make recommendations for increasing efficiency and effectiveness.

The Florida Board of Governors is a 17-member governing board that serves as the governing body for the State University System of Florida, which includes all public universities in the State of Florida including Florida A&M University.
