The history of the Rattler runs deep. In 1891, when our school was relocated to Highwood Plantation, the rural landscape was home to an abundance of wildlife, especially rattlesnakes. Their tenacity to strike — and strike and strike again — embodies the resilience and grit inside of FAMU students.
