About Me

A native of Tallahassee, Florida, and graduate of Florida A&M University, William T. Jiles is a veteran broadcaster with a 20-year career in TV journalism and five years in commercial radio announcing. During his news career, Jiles received several awards, including the TARA Award for “Best Male Television Reporter” (West Palm Beach market) and the Florida School Board Association’s Media Award for “Excellent Coverage of Public Education.” In radio, Jiles was rated by Arbitron the number one mid-day radio personality in the Tallahassee metropolitan market. He also won an Addy Award for his production of the “Best 60 Second” radio commercial.

Jiles previously worked in municipal government as the public relations/media manager for the City of Riviera Beach, Florida. In 1994, Jiles launched his own public relations and TV production firm—Keltash Communications, Inc., which he named after his two children Kelvin and Tasha. He successfully operated that business for more than 15 years, serving local and national clients, including Black Enterprise Magazine, Coca-Cola Company, E.D.S., The National Conference of Black Mayors, The National Brotherhood of Skiers, The Port of Palm Beach, the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office and The School District of Palm Beach County.

Jiles is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Investigative Reporters and Editors, and the National Association of Black Journalists. He currently serves on the board of directors for the John G. Riley Center & Museum. Previous professional boards on which Jiles has served include Artist Showcase of the Palm Beaches, Scholastic Achievement Foundation of Palm Beach County and Grassy Waters Preserve of West Palm Beach, FL.

Jiles earned a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism at FAMU, a Master of Arts degree in communication and leadership, and a Certificate in International Media at Gonzaga University.
