Dr. Nazarius S. Lamango is a professor of Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences
and Biochemistry in the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the College of Pharmacy
and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health. With a strong background
in biochemistry, protein chemistry and intermolecular interactions, he operates at
the interphase between biology and chemistry to identify the molecular hallmarks of
diseases such as cancers, design small molecular entities to mitigate the disease-causing
changes to serve as targeted therapies. Working with undergraduate, post-baccalaureate,
graduate students and postdoctoral research associates, he trains and mentors the
next generation of biomedical researchers.
