Margareth Larose-Pierre, Pharm.D., RPh., is the Founding Campus Dean, Director and
Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University College
of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Institute of Public Health, Durell Peaden,
Jr. Rural Pharmacy Education Campus in Crestview, Florida. In addition to obtaining
a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, she completed a
PGY-1 ASHP-accredited residency, and additional certificates in Physical Assessment
in Patient Care Management, Critical Care, Medication Therapy Management and Pharmacogenomics
in Clinical Practice. She has over 30 years of experience in pharmacy education, clinical
practice and research. Her focused practice areas include critical care and infectious
disease. She has contributed multiple publications to the pharmacy literature and
continues to serve in several leadership roles in professional organizations and advisory
boards. Her current passion and interest include the role of emotional intelligence
and professional identity formation in the advancement of the pharmacy profession.
She is also passionate about educating the community on the important role mental
health and well-being plays in a thriving society.

I am the Founding Campus Dean, Director and Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the
Durell Peaden Jr. Rural Pharmacy Education Campus for Florida A&M University College
of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health. My research interest
is focused on Diversity and Inclusion, Mental Health and Wellness, Emotional Intelligence
and Professional Identity Formation, Health-related studies in the African-American
and other minority populations, psychosocial aspects of population health and infectious
diseases. Research projects on which I have worked include: prostate cancer, HIV AIDS,
infectious diseases. I have worked as PI or co-Investigator on several university-
Corporate, CDC, and NIH-funded grants and significantly contributed to the establishment
of community ties and the publication of multiple scientific articles in peer-reviewed
journals. As a researcher, I have obtained in excess of $2.5 million in grants and
managed a budget of over $12 million total as a Director/Campus Dean.
