Dr. Madison Holmes is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Florida A&M University
College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health Durell
Peaden Jr. Rural Pharmacy Education Campus. In addition to teaching and training learners,
Dr. Holmes is a member of several national pharmacy organizations, and participates
in several committees at the college, local, and national levels. Dr. Holmes is also
an active member within the community. She is actively involved in community health
fairs, pharmacy recruiting events, and speaking at local seminars. She is also well
published in peer-reviewed pharmacy literature, most notably a publication as primary
author in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Preventing Chronic Disease
Journal on pharmacist-led chronic care management for medically underserved populations.
Dr. Holmes has also obtained board certification as a pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS),
allowing her to expand her knowledge and skills as a clinical pharmacist. She has
also obtained a certificate in "Effective College Instruction" from the Association
of College and University Educators (ACUE), instilling her commitment to stay abreast
of best teaching practices. Dr. Holmes has also served as both principal and co-investigator
for several grants focusing on improving health outcomes of patients. Dr. Holmes also
practices as a clinical pharmacist at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola,
FL, where she precepts fourth-year PharmD learners, providing them hands-on training
in the areas of general medicine and infectious disease. Dr. Holmes also serves as
an internal medicine preceptor for PGY1 pharmacy residents at Ascension Sacred Heart
Hospital.
