Dr. Edwards-Doe has over 25 years serving in various professional healthcare settings and roles, to include clinical nursing and nursing leadership. She has extensive clinical experience in adult health, sub-acute rehab nursing, geropsychiatry nursing and geriatric nursing specialties. Prior to joining FAMU, Dr. Edwards-Doe has served in various academic leaderships roles as Department Chair, Nurse Administrator, and Program Director for undergraduate pre-licensure nursing programs. She is a member of the America Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, and the National League of Nursing.
Dr. Edwards-Doe research interest includes community health disparities, gender-based HIV health disparities, and targeted HIV programs promoting thoughtfulness, compassionate, and caring client-centered interactions. Dr. Edwards-Doe has led gender-based HIV health disparities education events in Liberia, West Africa, hosting and conducting a three-day Community health Outreach Worker training seminar in 2011 and focusing her Master and Doctoral research work on highlighting gender-based HIV disparities in Liberia, West Africa.
