About Me


Dr. J. Howell-Murray is a FAMU SON alumni, Fall class of 2011. She has worked in the acute care setting for most of her career in various roles including staff nurse, charge nurse, and assistant nurse manager within the Float Pool, Neurology, Oncology, and Orthopedic departments. She has a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Public Health from Grand Canyon University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Florida State University. She is a Stroke Certified Registered Nurse and has extensive experience in Chemo/Biotherapy administration. She has always had a passion for precepting and mentoring new nurses which influenced her decision to pursue academia. She is also a dedicated public health ambassador with a focus on health disparities and health equity.
