About Me

Erika Hill, Ph.D. serves as Director of Admissions & Prelaw Programming at Florida A&M University College of Law, a position she has held since October 2015. Initially joining FAMU Law as Associate Director of Admissions, she was promoted to Director in July 2019, assuming leadership of the department and its strategic initiatives.

Dr. Hill is a dynamic higher education leader with over 20 years of experience developing student-centered programs and implementing systems that enhance educational outcomes. Her reputation as a service-oriented professional who nurtures and guides students along their educational paths began in 2000 when she served as Associate Director of Admission and Recruitment at Florida State University College of Law. During her eight-year tenure at FSU, she designed and implemented strategic recruitment initiatives that streamlined the admissions process and enhanced applicant experience.

Between her roles at FSU and FAMU Law, Dr. Hill served as Coordinator of Graduate Admissions at FAMU's School of Graduate Studies and as Director of the Center for Global Security & International Affairs at FAMU, where she managed a federally funded $2.5 million intelligence training program. Under her leadership, this program received recognition as one of the top five IC-CAE programs nationally by the ODNI.

Dr. Hill's extensive experience includes program development and implementation, policy development and compliance management, stakeholder engagement, and team development. She has consistently demonstrated the ability to build and foster key relationships with executive leadership, students, and other constituents to successfully plan and execute programs. Her leadership has resulted in measurable improvements in FAMU Law incoming class credentials and the development of innovative virtual student engagement campaigns and webinars.

Beyond her administrative roles, Dr. Hill serves as an Adjunct Professor at FAMU, teaching courses in Professional Development for Social Sciences, Public Affairs Internship, Public Policy, and American National Government. She is active in university service, currently serving on the Strategic Enrollment Planning Committee, Student Success and Enrollment Management Committee, and Faculty Planning Conference Committee.

Dr. Hill recently completed her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Florida A&M University (2024), with dissertation research Exploring the Interplay between On-campus Employment, Student Engagement, and Leadership Skills. She also holds a Master of Applied Social Science with a concentration in Public Administration from FAMU and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Service & Counseling with a minor in Psychology from Florida State University.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hill has been integral in creating and launching numerous program initiatives with full responsibility for recruitment, policy development, program evaluation, and budget management, establishing herself as a transformative leader in higher education administration.
