Nicholas Thomas, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, serves as the Coordinator for Music Teacher Education at Florida A&M University where his duties include teaching Undergraduate and Graduate music teacher education courses, advising music teacher education students and assisting with the FAMU bands program. Dr. Thomas has 10 years of public-school teaching experience in the DeKalb County School System (Atlanta, Georgia) and Broward County Schools (Fort Lauderdale, Florida).
Dr. Thomas has presented on topics at several state, national and international music conferences including the Florida Music Educators Association Conference and the Mid-West Clinic. An active adjudicator, clinician and arranger, Dr. Thomas professional affiliations include The National Association for Music Education, The Florida Music Educators Association, The Florida Bandmasters Association, The College Band Directors National Association, The Association of Composers and Publishers, The Screen Actors Guild, Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity Inc., Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority Inc., and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
