Due to tropical storm Ian’s potential landfall, we are rescheduling Parent and Family Weekend to November 4-6, 2022.

Important Weekend Information
CHECK-IN
Check-in will be held in the H. Manning Efferson Student Union - Grand Ballroom Lobby for Parent and Family Weekend. You may check in on Friday, November 4th between the hours of 9:00a.m. and 5:00p.m. eastern standard time (EST). H. Manning Efferson Student Union is located at 1628 South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Tallahassee, Florida 32307.
LATE CHECK-IN
If you are running a little late and cannot make it in on Friday, don’t fret!! Late check-in will be available on Saturday, November 5th in the H. Manning Efferson Student Union – Multipurpose Room between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. eastern standard time (EST). H. Manning Efferson Student Union is located at 1628 South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Tallahassee, Florida 32307.
REFUNDS
If you are unavailable to make it during the rescheduled date, please email esua@famu.edu with your contact information along with the reservation name used for Eventbrite. In the subject line, please type “Unable to Attend - Parent & Family Weekend Refund Request.”

TRANSPORTATION
Air Transportation: We recommend that students and family members use the Tallahassee International Airport when flying to Tallahassee for attendance at orientation. https://www.talgov.com/airport/airport.aspx
Ground Transportation: If you require transportation from the airport to the preferred hotel or plan to rent a car, it is advised that you book these services in advance. Please see https://www.talgov.com/airport/ground.aspx for more details.

Please PRINT and display the attached decal on your dashboard once you arrive on campus. This is ONLY valid for Friday, November 4, 2022. Game day parking on campus is on a first come, first served basis and may require fees at the entrance of the parking lot.
Parking will be available at the following locations:
* Will Packer Amphitheater
* General Parking Lot located at the south end of Martin Luther King Blvd.
All university parking lots are clearly marked with appropriate signs.
While on campus, DO NOT park in the following areas:
* Fire Lanes (Red Curb Lines)
* Reserved Parking Spaces
* Handicapped Spaces
* Loading Zones (Yellow Curb Lines)
* Baptist Collegiate Ministries Parking Lot
* Bragg Memorial Stadium on Friday or Saturday.
* University Parking Garage on Friday or Saturday.
Please Note: If you park in any of these areas, you are subject to be ticketed and/or booted or towed. Florida A&M University will not be held responsible in the event that this occurs.
Casual attire along with comfortable walking shoes is recommended. The temperature in Tallahassee ranges from 70-100 degrees during this time of year. We also recommend that you bring an umbrella and/or plastic poncho (just in case!).
Although being vaccinated is not mandatory to attend Parent and Family weekend, due to the large amount of crowds, we strongly encouraged that everyone gets vaccinated. Getting the COVID-19 vaccine gives you an added layer of protection against COVID-19 and could also protect others. Here are some key points about the COVID-19 vaccination:
o All COVID-19 vaccines available in the United States are very effective at preventing the disease.
o The most common side effects are pain in the arm at the injection site, feeling tired, headache, body aches, chills, and fever.
o Stopping a pandemic requires using all the tools we have available, including following the CDC’s recommended mitigation measures.

RATTLER QUARTERS: WELCOME LUNCHEON
Location: Grand Ballroom located H. Manning Efferson Student Union
Time: Noon – 1 p.m.
Activities: Dean of Students Greetings, Weekend Overview, Door Prizes and Second Line to Set Friday.
OLD SCHOOL SET FRIDAY
Location: H. Manning Efferson Student Union front Courtyard
Time: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Activities: Set Friday Market Vendors and Music.
SNEAK-PEEK-AT-GREEK YARD SHOW
Location: Will Packer Amphitheater
Rain Location: Gaither Gymnasium
Time: 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Activities: Performances from campus organizations within the Fraternity and Sorority Life division.
A NIGHT ON THE BAYOU
Location: Meek-Eaton Black Archives Research Center and Museum Front Lawn
Rain Location: Grand Ballroom
Time: 7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Activities: Live Band, Cajun Cuisine, Best Mask Competition, FAMU Line Dances and Door Prizes. Limited seating is provided. However, you won’t need it as you will be dancing the night away.

GAME DAY TAILGATE
Location: Paddyfote Green Space (Corner of Wahnish Way and Robert and Trudie Perkins Way)
Time: 3 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Activities: Tailgate Games, Food and Music. Please remember to wear your Parent and Family Weekend Shirt.
GAME TIME: FAMU VS. SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY
Location: Bragg Memorial Stadium – East Side (General Admission)
Time: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Activities: Rattler Football Team, Marching 100, and Cheerleaders. Please remember to wear your Parent and Family Weekend Shirt.
5th QUARTER SILENT PARTY
Location: Bragg Memorial Stadium – East Side (General Admission)
Time: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Activities: Old School vs New School Disc Jockeys.
Farewell Brunch
Location: Gaither Gymnasium
Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Activities: University President and Vice-President Farewell Message, Music and Southern Style Brunch.
