Florida A&M University (FAMU) Annual President Holiday Toy Drive kicked into high gear Friday with a stream of vehicles pulling into the driveway of the Friday’s President’s House on South Adam Street, Tallahassee.
President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., and wife Sharon Robinson greeted each donor as staff and student volunteers carried the bikes and other unwrapped Christmas gifts indoors. Some of the staff members even sang Christmas carols to get everyone in a festive mood.
As of Friday night, 598 gifts had been donated.
But if you didn’t donate a toy, there’s still time to give. Coordinator of Public Functions Vernon Bryant said donations are still being accepted up to close of business on Wednesday, December 8. Donations of unwrapped toys, bikes, scooters, and other gifts can be dropped off at the FAMU Office of Communications, Suite 200 Lee Hall, 1601 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Suite 200.
