Marques Cutler and John Crossman
Florida A&M University (FAMU) student Marques Cutler is the 2021-2022 recipient of the Crossman Career Builder Scholarship. Cutler is a fourth-year quantitative analysis student with a minor in marketing in the School of Business and Industry (SBI).
The Port St. Joe, Florida, native said the Crossman Scholarship is a vote of confidence in his talents and potential.
“This scholarship means that they believe in me and my abilities so much that they decided to invest not only money, but a lasting impression and connection with me,” Cutler said.
“I will show my appreciation by using the funds to their fullest potential while excelling as a student at FAMU and eventually giving back in a similar way to students who are in the same position as me.”
After graduation, Cutler plans to earn a salaried position with either Amazon or Aldi supermarket company. Ultimately, Cutler intends to invest in commercial properties and become a serial entrepreneur.
The endowed Crossman Scholarship was created by John Crossman, chief executive officer of Crossman Career Builders, which provides a number of resources and scholarships for college students and young professionals.
A member of the FAMU Foundation Board of Directors, Crossman founded Club REAL to introduce real estate concepts and investing to FAMU students. Another Crossman donation pays for a FAMU graduate to pursue a master’s degree in real estate at the University of Florida.
“One of the best ways to improve and diversify the real estate marketplace is to encourage the participation of the best of the next generation,” Crossman said.
