Office of University Housing


All  freshmen , first  time  in  college  students, (FTIC)  and  /or  students  with  fewer  than  thirty (30) semester  credit  hours  graduating  from  a  high  school  in  excess  of thirty-five (35) miles of the University’s Tallahassee campus are required to live in University owned or operated residential facilities. Housing agreements are accepted until available space is depleted. Refer to University Regulation 2.001 (Housing).

A FTIC student is defined as a student under the age of 21 prior to the  first  day  of  classes  with  fewer  than  30  semester  hours  recognized  by  Florida  A&M  University  and  has  resided  in University Housing  for  less  than  two semesters.  

All  student  athletes  and  full  University  scholarship  recipients  that  receive  the  Life  Get  Better  Scholarship,  Distinguished  Scholars  Award,  and Adopted High School Scholarship must reside on campus during the  first two academic years of enrollment. Access Summer Bridge Program and CeDAR ART Program participants shall live in on-campus housing for the first two (2) academic years of enrollment.

A student that cannot document eligibility for an exemption from the On-Campus Residency Requirement and resides off campus without an approved exemption will be assessed two semesters rent at the lowest facility rate during the fall and spring semesters of the current academic year.The following are current on-campus residential facilities: FAMU Village, Gibbs Hall,Paddyfote Complex, Palmetto South, Palmetto Phase 3, Sampson Hall, Truth Hall, and Young Hall.
