Spring 2021 Commencement

Updated locations for Tallahassee Commencement:

Due to the threat of inclement weather, FAMU’s Commencement exercises scheduled for Friday, April 23, Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25 will now be held inside the Al Lawson, Jr., Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium. Social distancing protocols and procedures will continue to be practiced during all Commencement activities.

Congratulations Class of 2021!
Florida A&M University will host in-person ceremonies for its Spring 2021 Commencement.  The University will host ceremonies beginning on Friday, April 23 through Sunday, April 25, 2021 in the Al Lawson, Jr., Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium.
Our students, parents, faculty and staff are top priority, and the University will continue to adhere to all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Board of Governors guidelines to ensure the health and safety of everyone. We look forward to celebrating this significant milestone with all of our spring 2021 graduates.

These ceremonies will celebrate only Spring 2021 graduates. The University will host an in-person ceremony for 2020 graduates this summer.

General Public Attendance

All commencement ceremonies will be ticketed and limited attendance events. To ensure proper social distancing protocols for graduates and their guests, there will not be an opportunity for the general public to attend any of the ceremonies.  Attendees must have an e-ticket for a ceremony in order to be granted entrance.  The general public can celebrate graduates and watch all of the ceremonies as they are live-streamed on  FAMU's YouTube Channel - FAMUTube1887.

Clear Bag Policy

Florida A&M University has implemented a clear bag policy for Commencement to provide a safer environment for the public and expedite entry into Al Lawson, Jr., Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium. This policy limits the size and types of bags permitted. Items must be carried or fit into a permissible clear plastic bag or a small clutch (no larger than 4.5” x 6.5’). All persons, approved bags and permitted items are subject to search upon entry and may be subject to additional search within the stadium. Anyone possessing prohibited items will be asked to return them to their vehicle or dispose of them at the entrance doors.

FAMU has the authority to prohibit any items deemed to be a security or safety risk. This policy is subject to change without notice
