Meek Eaton Black Archives


The Friends of the Black Archives, a non-profit volunteer support group, was organized on October 12, 1981 . The overall objectives of the organization are (1) to promote greater interest in the Black Archives, (2) to provide voluntary assistance to the center in its efforts to collect, preserve, and display historical artifacts and documents, and (3) to promote supportive programs and services by stimulating volunteer efforts of community members and other persons interested in public history and the preservation of African-American history and culture.
